Most meditation cushions make you hotter. This one breathes — because it's woven from rattan, with gaps between every strand. Your legs will notice the difference in five minutes.
The Maker
A cooperative in southern China weaves these cushions using rattan sourced from Guangxi's subtropical forests. The weavers are mostly women who learned the craft from their mothers — the same hands that weave baskets now weave cushions designed for stillness.
The Place
Guangxi, southern China. The rattan grows wild in the tropical forests here, harvested by hand without chemicals. The climate is humid enough that the rattan stays flexible during weaving — no soaking required.
The Craft
Each cushion is handwoven from natural rattan in a spiral pattern that distributes weight evenly while allowing air circulation. The frame is steam-bent rattan — shaped over a mold, not cut and joined. No hardware, no synthetic padding. Just rattan doing what rattan does best: flexing and breathing simultaneously.
At Home
In your meditation corner, obviously. But also on the balcony on a warm evening, on the floor reading, or as an extra seat when someone shows up unannounced. Stack two for a higher seat. It's lighter than it looks.
